Teeth, Animals

The type of teeth that have been given to each animal are part of the magnificent preparation of nutrition for every living thing.

Herbivores are animals that eat plants exclusively. Herbivores have strong and flat molars that grind leaves. They only have small (or non-existent) canine teeth. Plant matter begins to be  broken down by the wide and flat molars that are perfectly Designed to grind their plant food, and begin the process of digestion. Herbivore have incisors that are sharp and are used for tearing plants, but they may not be present on both the upper and lower jaw. White tail deer are a perfect example of an herbivore that has only lower incisors and a rigid upper jaw that assists in the tearing of plants. Many animals, such as horses and cows, have jaws that are capable of moving sideways.

Carnivores, the meat eaters of the animal world, have very defined canine teeth for tearing at meat. Lions, tigers, wolves, and foxes are examples of carnivores that have been given the food to eat and the tools to process their prey. They all have long, pointed, front teeth to grip their prey and sharp teeth behind these  front teeth for cutting up meat.

Omnivores, because they eat both meat and plants, have a combination of sharp front teeth and molars for grinding.
