The Shulchan

The Shulchan in the Mishkan is two amos (cubits) long, one amah wide and 1.5 amos high [Shemos (Exodus) 25:23]. Around the top of Shulchan is a crown (a trim that goes around the top of the Shulchan).

Question: If you stretched the crown out into one line how long would it be?

Answer: We are solving for the perimeter of the top of the Shulchan.  Therefore the height is irrelevant.

2(length) + 2(width) = (2 x 2) + (2 x 1) = 4 + 2 = 6 amos (cubits)
