The Step-by-Step Reading Series, Backpack Books, created by experienced Reading Specialists, is a set of 30 full color stories geared to beginning readers. Based on the Balanced Literacy approach, these stories contain sequential phonic skills, 6 new sight words in each book, and are designed to reinforce specific reading strategies and comprehension goals.
